Our History

Welcome to Mae Kong Thai Restaurant, currently the only Thai restaurant in New Britain, Connecticut.

Oumaphone and husband Phoukhong Siboriboun successfully own a grocery store Mae Nam Kong, in New Britain for two and a half years, and decided that they wanted to venture into the restaurant business for a couple of reasons. It has always been Oumaphone dream to open a restaurant in the united state because she had one back home and was in the search for a location to open her new restaurant, that will carry the same culture and the originality of the food from her first restaurant back home. She had many places in mind, but in the end she chose New Britain. Oumaphone was so anxious to open the new restaurant that it took her less than 3 months to get it ready and open, typically it would take about a year. At Mae Kong you will experience the exact same great tasting food as if you are in Thailand.
